So what was the studio like? Was it as amazing as I dream it is? from disneymel

It was quite cozy if that makes sense? haha
The Animation building seems quite small but definitely nice. There’s about 800 people who work there. They had a lot of Wreck it Ralph stuff up and I got to see some visdev stuff for Frozen (but that’s all I can say about that hehe). It seems like a pretty fun place to work though! The work areas are nice and spacious, there’s room for a lot of interaction and collaboration with other artists, and the break area is quite nice too haha!

Art Center (Term 4) - Inventive Character

This is a project I did for my Inventive Character class, taught by Lou Police. The class is based on recreating characters from an already existing story.

This is my take on Cinderella! Instead of the ball, all poor Cindy wants to do is attend her school’s sock hop, and hopefully meet the heartthrob of her dreams. The story takes place in the 1950’s.

Spring 2013

Hey everyone! So this project is for one of my classes, as stated above, but this is also the launch of my now official art site! Please check it out and follow? Thanks so much! <3

Also, today I am visiting the Walt Disney Studios, this work was going to be added into my portfolio to show to them today, but I’ve been so busy with other finals that I was unable to complete it nor feel satisfied with it. There is a lot more I would like to add to his Cinderella project and in general to my portfolio, but I did not have the time to do so. I’ve felt very rushed, and I don’t want to present work that’s been half-assed, so I’m taking this as a sign that I’m not ready. Luckily I still have half of school to go through, and will be given many more opportunities to put myself out there before I graduate. I’m a bit disappointed, but if I’m not ready, then it’s okay. I rather go in feeling good about my work than worrying whether I’m embarrassing myself.

Thanks and hope you enjoy!

“What attracts me most to a boy. (looks wise)”

Y’know, this is surprisingly a tough question for me haha! Mainly because I’ve only really ever been with two people romantically my whole life, both of them being VERY different from one another. I’ve never really sought out physical attributes in guys, because I’m rarely looking due to being involved with someone already. I don’t entirely know yet what my taste in guys are, physicality wise haha!

I suppose I like a guy who’s tall. I definitely prefer guys who are solid and overall just have a healthy build. I like feeling small and dainty compared to whoever he may be. I’ve taken a liking to dark brown eyes haha! But other than that, that’s really it! Of course, for myself, personality and heart is what really matters most to me.

“My best quality.”

Haha OH NO! I’m so bad at this stuff.
Ummm well I’ve always found myself being very empathetic, so I love listening to my friend’s problems, crying with them, and doing the best I can to aid their worries. Part of being empathetic is also being super sensitive (which isn’t always a good thing haha!) but in the right situations, I think it really helps show off the better qualities in me!

Along with being empathetic, I feel I’m also quite open minded as well. It’s just about understanding others, no matter how twisted or abstract they are, and I feel that I’m able to do so.

“My biggest dream.”

I feel like this might be obvious to most who know me or have been following me for a while, but ultimately my biggest dream is to be happy. I do hope to have my dream job one day working at Disney or Pixar, doing what I love and do best. I do hope to start a family, I want love in all ways. I never thought about it that much, but recently I’ve discovered that I truly do want to be a mother someday, I also want to be a loving partner, and I want to travel and just do the best I can in this world.

“The most thing that makes me angry.”

Ohohohoho there are quite a lot of things I can list. Recently though, I get quite annoyed with people who message me things as if they’re actually speaking, like they type out their actual speaking style, if that makes sense? For example: instead of saying “all right”, they say “aight”. or they say “ey” or “ay” A LOT. And they use excessive amount of emoticons. It just bugs me, like why not just type out regular proper speech? To me it just comes off douchey haha! Like trust me, I’m no grammar Nazi, I misspell things ALL THE TIME, especially when texting, but I just don’t get the extra effort to make yourself sound so “swagalicious”.

I get criticized a lot (mainly by people who aren’t close friend’s of mine), because say on fb messaging, I like to write very concisely. And when I do so, whoever I may be speaking with takes it as if I’m mad at them or don’t want to talk, when really I just find it the easiest way to communicate with someone. I’ve been annoyed so much by this, that I literally have to explain to the person “DUDE. words do not have tone, there is no way for you to assume that I am angry, I just like to be concise, stop assuming shit.” Of course with my close friends, I go all text crazy, but that’s with them, that’s our thing. With most others, I like to keep it clean and concise.

I’m sorry if this makes me sound super compulsive haha

“Memory of the most fun even in my life.”

Man, too many to count, and many of them at Disneyland haha! One of my most recent memories is when I went with some old family friends of mine. That whole day was just filled with laughter, even the car ride there and back was fun. The last dapper day I attended was also great! It was fun to dress up, plus I had a spiffy date!

“Bravest/most badass thing I’ve ever done.”

Hmmmm. I’ve never seen myself as a badass haha but one of the bravest things I’ve done (that come to mind) would probably be traveling to the Netherlands all by myself at the age of 14.

See, I used to play soccer. I played for about 9 years, and the year before my last year of playing, I was invited to play on an international team as part of an organization called People to People. For three weeks I trained in Holland and played against teams from other countries. It was tough because I went not knowing ANYONE, it was the first time I went somewhere THAT far away, without my mom, and not to mention the rigorous training! But it was a great experience, and afterwards my mom did come up and meet me there, and we did some further traveling!

Hello, I just got accepted into Art Center Entertainment Art Illustration Program. I was wondering if you could tell me about the program. Does it help students with concept art, and prepare them to work in animation fields. Do companies come to visit the school? Does the program help with character dev, environments, and does it have you grow as a concept artist? How are the students there? Are you having fun ? Workload ? Thank you so much for your help. from creatinggrace

Hey there!

So far it’s been a great experience and I’ve been having lots of fun! And yes, for the Entertainment Arts the main focus is visual development for animation companies such as Disney, Pixar, Dream Works, etc.

I only just started taking entertainment classes this term, and I’m loving it! In fact, a majority of my teachers have worked at Disney at some point, or are currently working there. One of my classes will be going to the Disney Studios for a field trip in a couple weeks and we’ve been encouraged to show our portfolios! We always have guest speakers and companies do visit the school to view the graduating term’s portfolios at the end of every term.

As for the workload, it’s really not bad at all! Honestly, the first three terms (all foundation classes), have the heaviest loads. Plus it’s getting used to the “Art Center workload”, just that whole adapting period. But as you carry on to your specific track, the assignments become more enjoyable and in a sense, easier. I’ve definitely been growing as an artist and am learning a lot!
